Travel With The Osprey Atmos 50 Backpack

| May 9, 2017 | Reply

The Osprey Atmos 50 Backpack is outstanding bag for hiking and long-term travel. Due to its incredible suspension system, this is one of the comfiest backpacks around, providing great mobility and flexibility for any wearer. With Osprey’s All Mighty Guarantee promise, (they will fix, free of charge, any bag of theirs at any time and for any reason) it’s hard to pass the Osprey Atmos 50 by if you’re looking for a great pack to take walking, backpacking or camping.

Weighing at under 2kg, the Osprey Atmos 50 is incredibly light for a bag of this size, making it another great choice for hikers. At 50 litres, it also gives you a good amount of space to pack all the essentials, including sleeping gear, while still keeping things minimal.

In addition, the Osprey Atmos 50 has a super ventilating mesh panel, which extends from the back panel right down to the hipbelt. This is an excellent feature, providing great airflow that really will help you stay cool and comfortable when wearing the backpack in hot or humid conditions. This mesh panel automatically fits to the contours of your body and also provides a great freedom of movement that increases the outstanding fit of the Osprey Atmos 50.

I also really like the adjustable harness on this bag, as well as the padded and ventilating shoulder straps – more brilliant features that really come into their own during sweaty hikes or tropical backpacking adventures! The Osprey Atmos 50’s external and internal compression straps are also very handy, as is the inbuilt water hydration sleeve, which can perfectly host your camelbak or other internal reservoir system.

This backpack also has a good number of external lashings (perfect for carrying trekking poles or other outdoor gear) as well as removable sleeping pad straps, which means things can very easily be attached to the outside.

There are 8 pockets in total on the Osprey Atmos 50, which is a great number to help you subdivide your equipment and get access to the things you need most quickly. The hipbelt pockets are my favourite and are perfect for carrying money, lip balm, a compass or phrasebook – anything small that you need to get hold of frequently.

Another superb feature of the Osprey Atmos 50is the floating lid, which can be totally detached from the main bag and used almost as a daypack. With 2 pockets and a handy strap, the floating top lid adds another dimension of usefulness to the Osprey Atmos 50 both when it is connected or used separately.

The Osprey Atmos 50 is available in 3 striking colours – a vibrant green, burnt red or sophisticated grey. The Osprey Atmos pack is also available in a number of different sizes. On top of the medium 50l version, there is also a smaller 47l pack, as well as a larger 53l size, which gives you a greater flexibility in ensuring you choose the bag that is right for you.

If you’re planning on going trekking or exploring anywhere, you seriously want to consider the Osprey Atmos as one of the most comfortable and durable backpacks on the market. After all, it’s guaranteed for life!
